How to take care of your lips
By Patricia Uyeh
The lips are very vital parts of the human body. Dry and chapped lips is a big turn off. No wonder it is important to keep your lips in good condition and to give them the care they need. Deep hydration, weekly exfoliation and a few other good habits will improve the health of your lips. To care for your lips, it is essential that you do the following:
– After brushing, use toothbrush to stroke your lips lightly to make it soft.
-Moisturise your lips with moisturising balm or petroleum jelly to give it the much needed hydration.
-It is recommended that once a week you exfoliate and thus hide or remove any impurities that may be present on your lips.
-After exfoliating, remember to keep your lips moistured.
-Avoid permanent lipsticks. They seem like the go-to for a long lasting effect but, for that to happen, the lipstick has to stay dry. And dryness must be avoided.
-Use a creamy lipstick and avoid the dry long lasting ones.
-Ensure you stay hydrated always. It is then recommended to increase your water intake to at least two litres a day.
-Consume foods that are high in vitamins C and E and antioxidants e.g vegetables and fruits.
-Don’t forget to not bite your lips constantly as it will cause it to peel.
