Hat Tricks
By Jemi Ekunkunbor
You may not be big on hats but on a wedding day when you need to be your most classic self, a hat is one accessory you can’t do without.
Adorning a beautiful hat can go a long way to improving your outward appearance. Match your hat with your dress and remember, you’re wearing the hat and not the other way around. Choose a style that you are comfortable in and wear it with confidence. Be sure your choice complements your shape and height. Follow these rules and etiquette guiding the use of one.
RULES
- If you’re tall, avoid tall hats and go for wider brims. If you’re short avoid large hats and go for smaller designs.
- Never outshine the host. The mother of the groom should always choose a wedding hat smaller than the mother of the bride’s.
- Wear a hat that won’t block others from being seen especially during photograph session.
- The decoration or embellishment on the hat should be worn on the right side. This is the rule for women.
