Former Golf champion, Tiger woods arrested for driving while drunk

Former world Golf champion, Tiger Woods has been arrested for drunk-driving in the town of Jupiter, Florida.
Tiger was discovered sleeping at the wheel of his Mercedes, in the right lane while the car engine was still running. It took the intervention of a police officer to wake him up.
According to the Palm Beach County police , the golfer was released based on recognizance by the police, whose record lists the charge against Tiger Woods as Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
In a statement published by People, Woods spoke about his arrest. He said:
“I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions. I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved.
“What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly.
“I would like to apologize with all my heart to my family, friends and the fans. I expect more from myself too.
“I will do everything in my power to ensure this never happens again. I fully cooperated with law enforcement, and I would like to personally thank the representatives of the Jupiter Police Department and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office for their professionalism.”
The 41-year-old golfer has been recovering from recent back surgery and shared the information about his health via his blog on 24 May.
