One lesson Toke Makinwa learnt from a bumpy flight

Life happens to everyone irrespective of their status. However, when life happens and the journey gets bumpy, there’s only one thing to do; look unto God and worry less.

Toke Makinwa learnt from a bumpy flight

It took a rough flight for media personality, Toke Makinwa to learn this. And now, she’s encouraging others with her story.

She wrote,

Trust me. I just got off one of the scariest flights ever, it started off so smooth and just when I was about to settle in, the ride got interesting. “Rough winds” the pilot called it but boy was it bumpy, I looked around me at some point and the silence in the cabin was loud.

I could see people holding on to the chairs in front of them for dear life and that sunken feeling in your belly like you are about to throw up hit me real fast. My legs tingling as the plane was trying to find some balance, with every move and drop in altitude it got even more uncomfortable.

I could hear the wind hit the doors of the plane and it was loud ???? but thru all of this, I was calm, I don’t know how or why but I just knew it was not my time to go. I was relaxed and I thought of my friends, my family and though there was WiFi on board, I couldn’t bring myself to message them. While waiting for some calm to return I heard the spirit so still, so clear and I knew there was a lesson in this for me.

Just like the boisterous wind, it reminded me of my life and how crazy things get sometimes. This year I have had so many wins which I am thankful for but I have also had some low blows that threatened to take me out.

If I was this calm up here in the skies, not knowing who the pilot was or if anything would go wrong, why then do I question God so much? Why do I doubt him and throw tantrums and lose faith when silly things happen to me? Funny how I knew I was going to be ok, I can’t explain it but I even fell asleep in the storm.

We landed safely and I took one important lesson from this experience, I said a prayer and apologized for all the times I have spent worrying over stupid stuff, God has got it all figured out. It may not look like it, sure, the journey does get bumpy and there would be times where the boisterous winds will occur but if we can be rest assured and anchored in him, he will take the weight out of all our wait. Hope this helps someone? let go of all their anxiety, worry less and focus more. When next you are about to spend time worrying over things that are out of your control, I hope you remember this. God has got you ❤️
