‘Merry Men 2’ Set To Hit Netflix

‘Merry Men 2’ New mission is set to hit Netflix, an American media-services provider, following the latter’s acquisition of rights to the movie.

The film, which premiered in cinemas in December and grossed over N100 million in its opening week, stars Ramsey Nouah, Ayo Makun, Falz, Jim Iyke and Nancy Isime.

Among others on the movie’s cast are Williams Uchemba, Ufuoma McDermott, Ireti Doyle, Regina Daniels, Linda Osifo, and Osas Ighodaro.

Moses Inwang, the movie’s director, and Makun, a Nigerian comedian and producer, took to their different Instagram pages to break the good news.

“Something big is coming to Netflix! Are you ready?,” Inwang wrote.

While the precise date when the action-comedy thriller will be made available on the streaming platform is yet to be known, AY, one of the ‘Yoruba Demons’ in the film, also confirmed the news.

In January, McDermott had adjudged ‘Merry Men 2’ to be her most challenging project since she took to acting 16 years ago.

“It’s the most challenging in my career because I had to be physical and be as fit as I can. Merry Men 2 took me to a place that no other film has taken me to and I am grateful for that,” she had said.

“The movie took me out of my usual happy, laughing to the character to a bit more serious one where I had to frown my face all the time and all that.

“At the premiere of merry 2, I had already had two offers on action films. I think working on this project made me understand the importance of having the right crew members.”
