Supermodel, Naomi Campbell clocks 50
Supermodel and philanthropist, Naomi Campbell turns 50 today.
Born May 22, 1970, the British-born supermodel started modeling at the age of 15 and now, aged 50, still boasts an enviable array of luxury fashion and beauty contracts.
Campbell’s career has included numerous highs and history-making moments: she was the first black model to open for Prada and land a French Vogue and TIME magazine cover.
Like any model worth their salt, Campbell’s proved to be a style chameleon over the years. While her own most famous look – waist-long black hair, sculpted cheekbones, legs most of us could only ever dream of and piercing brown eyes – is infamous, she’s also worked a pixie cut, natural curls, a long bob and moreover the years.
Over the years, she has proven that she is not just called an icon for no reason as a philanthropist and actor.
Naomi recently shared photos of herself rocking beautiful African prints for the cover of ESSENCE magazine on their 50th anniversary as well as ahead of her birthday.
