Princess celebrates Baba Ijesha’s jail sentence, curses initial obstructions to justice

Comedienne, Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess, is overjoyed that Olanrewaju James Omiyinka, nicknamed Baba Ijesha, who sexually molested her foster daughter, has received a jail sentence.

Baba Ijesha was charged with six counts totaling sexual assault, attempted sexual assault by penetration, and indecent treatment of a child on June 24, 2021.

Following his conviction, the Ikeja Special Offenses Court in Lagos sentenced him to 16 years in prison on Thursday.
The actor was found guilty of sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, and indecent treatment of a child by Oluwatoyin Taiwo, the Special Offenses Court judge presiding over the case, in a two-hour verdict.

However, Taiwo cleared him of counts one and six, which were sexual assault by penetration and attempted sexual assault by penetration, and dismissed him.

A few hours after the verdict, Princess posted on social media that the verdict was good news for other girls who had purportedly been raped by Baba Ijesha.

“This judgement is for the other survivors of Baba Ijesha, I have promised not to mention their names.”

The actress also claimed that prior to the court’s decision, she had originally lost faith in the judicial system.

She also charged Yomi Fabiyi and Hakeem Odumosu, the former head of the Lagos Police Department, with attempting to conceal the incident.

She continued by calling Fabiyi a “rape apologist” and cursing him.

Idowu Philips, popularly known as Iya Rainbow and Odumosu, was also cursed by the actress, who added that they were among those responsible for her life’s misery.

Odumosu allegedly threatened Princess’ life on many times in an effort to get her to drop the lawsuit.

“Idowu Philips I’m calling you out. Do you even know how many people this guy molested? They were in court. Some of those victims. I’ve lost all hope, one of them was almost suicidal. You think coming online and bullying people ends there?”

“No, it doesn’t. It doesn’t end there. These are survivors molested by rapists and you people cover up for them. Yomi Fabiyi, you disgraced the survivors in the presence of all the people. That is the judgement of the court, the judgement of God has already started. All of you will never know peace.”
