Nigerian disk jockey (DJ) and daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola, Florence Otedola, better known as Cuppy, was among several people that hit the streets of London to protest the death of George Floyd, a black-American killed in the US.

The award-winning DJ took to her social media page on Sunday to share pictures of herself and other #BlackLivesMatter activists taking part in the demonstration.

In the post, Cuppy said she decided to join the protest because she would never be able to live with herself if she didn’t.

She went on to stress the need for the world to work together to tackle racism and other forms of inequalities.

“I honestly thought of so many reasons to not protest, but the truth is I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I didn’t go and support! Isaiah 1:17,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Straight after my radio show today, I joined my brothers and sisters who are protesting against racial injustice faced by black people globally.”

The daughter of Femi Otedola, billionaire businessman, also called on relevant authorities to address the scourge of gender-based violence and sexual assault in Nigeria.

“I’m also taking this moment to stand against gender-based violence and sexual assault taking place in Nigeria. Together we must do better Cc: @CuppyFoundation #BlackLivesMatter #SayNoToRape,” she added.

Cuppy further stretches the list of celebrities who have joined the global campaign against Floyd’s death.

Anthony Joshua, world heavyweight boxing champion, had on Saturday participated in a similar demonstration in Watford, where he described racism as a “pandemic.”
