Reality show star, Kim Kardashian may become next US First Lady
If all goes well, popular reality show star and businesswoman, Kimberly Kardashian West may just be on her way to becoming United State’s First Lady.
Her husband, rapper Kanye West at the weekend declared his intention to run for president, potentially putting him against a man he says he admires, Donald Trump.
And his wife has endorsed him, although it’s still unclear whether West has completed the official paperwork necessary to make such a bid, which many people are dismissing on social media as a “PR stunt”.
“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision, and building our future,” he tweeted. “I am running for president of the United States!”
Shortly after West made the announcement, Kardashian West, 39, retweeted the post alongside an emoji of the American flag.
Kardashian, who recently became a billionaire, married West in 2014.
They have four children together: daughter North, 7, son Saint, 4, daughter Chicago, 2, and one-year-old son, Psalm.
Kardashian’s family, including mother Kris and sister Khloe, are at the center of long-running series Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which documents their life as celebrities.
She is currently training to become a lawyer. Her father, Robert Kardashian, gained national recognition as OJ Simpson’s friend and defence attorney during his 1995 murder trial.
West’s songs include “Stronger”, “No Church in the Wild” and “Runaway”, which featured on 2010 record My Beautiful Twisted Dark Fantasy.
Donald Trump and Joe Biden are yet to address the rapper’s claim.
No additional comment has been made about West’s bid, but the Grammy Award winner has made no secret of his plans to run for president. However, he previously said he would wait until the 2024 election.
“If I decide to do it, it will be done, I’m not going to try,” he said in a radio interview with Power 92 Chicago’s DJ Pharris, adding: “Yes, 100 percent it could happen… 2024.”
