#EndSARS: H.E.R Shows Support For Protest During SNL Show
American singer, Gabriella Wilson better known as H.E.R, is the latest celebrity to show support for the #EndSARS protest.
The award-winning singer featured in the latest edition of Saturday Night Live (SNL), an American late-night live television sketch comedy and variety show.
The music star thrilled fans during the show, performing several songs including ‘Hold On’, her latest single.
At the show, hosted by Adele, fellow American singer, members of H.E.R’s band wore black shirts with #EndSARS boldly inscribed on them.
The development comes in the wake of condemnations trailing the killings of unarmed #EndSARS protesters in Lagos and other parts of the country.
It also stretches the list of prominent international celebrities that have backed the campaign aimed at ending police brutality in Nigeria.
Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, Beyoncé, Trey Songz among others have earlier showed their support for the campaign.
The #EndSARS protest had started against the backdrop of the misconducts of operatives of the now-disbanded special anti-robbery squad (SARS).
Amid the heated outrage that earlier greeted the protest, Mohammed Adamu, inspector-general of police (IGP), had banned the police unit.
But protesters had continued with the demonstrations, demanding comprehensive reform of the country’s police.
The campaign would, however, be hijacked by hoodlums later, resulting in the destruction of private and government-owned properties across the country.
