Barry Jhay Breaks His Silence On Suspected Involvement In Kashy’s Death
Oluwakayode Balogun, best known as Barry Jhay, a Nigerian musician, has spoken out about the death of his record label manager, Kashy.
Kashy, the CEO of CashNation Entertainment, died after falling from a building’s balcony in Ghana on March 7, 2021. At the time, the circumstances surrounding Kashy’s death remained unclear. However, there were conflicting claims on social media; some reported Kashy committed suicide, while others claimed that Barry Jhay, was involved in Kashy’s death.
The singer took to Instagram to post case papers from his legal team as well as an arrest report from Ghanaian police. Barry Jhay’s lawyers claimed in a statement dated March 15, 2021, that the singer is “not culpable of the unfounded allegations.” The reports of the Ghanaian police corroborated the allegation.
“These past few days have been drastically life changing for me with resounding frame of reflections,” Barry Jhay wrote in the caption.
“What was meant to be a vacation with my friend/brother turned into a tragic nightmare I almost didn’t wake up from. What I went through I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy but I still thank God for his grace upon my life and for also reminding me that there is a thin line between life and death and we’re not going to be here forever.
“I lost a dear friend, I almost lost my life and my freedom for something I had no hand in. I know I owe my fans my own side of the story and same is contained in the attached reports.”
According to the statement’s summary of the reports of Ghanaian police and other security experts, the police interviewed the other two residents of the rented apartment (Kashy’s girlfriend and the music producer), as well as an eye witness.
“The statements/testimonies given by all witnesses corroborated themselves to the following facts,” according to Barry Jhay’s lawyers.
