Award winning novelist, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has sadly lost her mum, Grace Ifeoma Adichie (nee Odigwe).

According to reports, she died suddenly on Monday, in Awka, Anambra State.

“It was very sudden and we are devastated,” a family spokesperson said.

This is coming months after the writer’s father, James Nwoye Adichie passed on.

She is survived by her six children: Ijeoma, Uchenna, Chuks, Okechukwu, Chimamanda and Kenechukwu; as well as nine grandchildren, in-laws and many relatives.
