Here’s How to Make Plantain Chips
Plantain Chips, also known as “KPEKERE” is a very nice snack to eat.
Plantains, you can use green, semi-ripe or very ripe, anyone of your choice.
3 cups of olive oil.
1 pinch of salt.
1 teaspoon of pepper.
Before you fry the plantain: Wash and peel the plantains. Thinly slice the plantains into a bowl. When done, add salt and pepper to taste and stir.
Frying Directions: heat some olive oil till it hot. Put the slices of plantain into the oil individually, in such a way that they are not stuck together. Stir till the plantains are golden and crispy. It takes about 2-3 minutes to be crispy on high heat. Transfer the plantain slices to a sieve lined with paper towels.
Store in air-tight containers when they have cooled down completely.
