Simone Biles Pulls Out of Olympic Games
Simone Biles has withdrawn from the gymnastics competition finals at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. She dropped out of the competition after failing to nail a vault during her routine.
During the game on July 27, 2021, the stadium commentator announced the withdrawal. Carol Fabrizio, a representative for USA Gymnastics, confirmed that Biles will not compete in the last event, according to the commentator. He remarked said;
Simone has withdrawn from the team’s competition because of medical issues. She will be accessed daily for medical clearance for future competitions.
The USA team will have to rely on their remaining three gymnasts, Grace McCallcum, Jordan Chiles, and Sunisa Lee, as a result of her absence from the competition.
The injury to Biles was a severe blow to the United States of America in Artistic Gymnastics, as they finished second to the Russian Olympic Committee, who won the gold medal. The Bronze Medal went to Great Britain.
