As they say, New Year, new you! And with 2023 beginning today, Nigerian celebrities have shared with Allure their New Year’s Resolutions, prayers and also the habits they would love to dump as they usher in the year.

I want to hold on to Jesus – Monica Friday
My New Year’s resolution is to hold on to Jesus like never before and to make more money. I want to share more testimonies. No more playing. I am not doing friendship with anyone. I just want to make more money in 2023. So, everybody should bring jobs for me. I also want to win more souls for Christ. This New Year, I want to drop the habit of over self-pity and helping the wrong people. I want to drop the habit of laziness; and stop procrastinating. I want to drop the habit of responding to people who gossip about me.

No too much talk in 2023 – Destiny Amaka
I do not do New Year’s resolutions. However, this New Year I want to specially ask God for good health of mind and body. I don’t have bad habits to drop; I just want to focus on growing and evolving myself and my brand. No too much talk this year; I want to do ‘ME’.

To drop over procrastination – JJC Skillz
This New Year, I want to pray more and be a better Muslim and also spread Afristar Media Company across Africa and beyond. I think I procrastinate a lot; I want to drop that this year.

To defeat the spirit of anger – Onyinye Okafor
Keeping away from wrong people and staying focused. I want to start giving back the same energy I get from anybody. I am not going to force anything. This year, I am looking forward to great exploits and breakthroughs in my career. I am also praying for great connections and a healthy life. I also want to drop my level of anger this year.

To live simple, happy life – Uche Elendu
I want to stop worrying and bothering myself with things that I can’t help. I met someone late in 2022 and he taught me a lot about life. So, I want to live a very simple, happy life that will glorify God. I am also praying for the best of my career and business this New Year. Praying that all my dreams and the things that I had in the pipeline but couldn’t achieve in 2022, all get sorted this year. I also pray that 2023 will give birth to a new Nigeria; a good leader that will transform this country, bring better economic situation and peace.

Focus more on my career – Yul Edochie
2023 is the year for my career; acting, filmmaking, as well as directing. So, I’ll put more effort into bettering my crafts. I also hope this year will birth a new beginning for Nigeria as a nation. I strongly believe that the New Year shall be a better one.
