Davido pledges to donate N300M to orphanages for birthday
Award-winning Afrobeat singer, Davido has announced plans to donate N300 million to orphanages across Nigeria as part of his upcoming 32nd birthday celebration.
The OBO music label boss shared the news on his X page ahead of his birthday, tomorrow, November 21.
In his post, Davido disclosed that the donation would support several orphanages and charities working to prevent drug abuse and addiction among young people, adding that details regarding the distribution of the funds will be revealed soon
“Once again, my birthday this year we are donating to orphanages and a charity that helps young people stay away from drug abuse & addiction. This year is N300m. Details to follow soon,” he tweeted.
This latest announcement underscores Davido’s ongoing dedication to charitable causes.
Back in 2021, the Grammy-nominated artist launched a social media fundraiser and donated the N250 million proceeds to orphanages nationwide.
Similarly, the ‘If’ crooner donated N237 million to various orphanages across Nigeria in July 2023.
Also in February, he also gave out N300 million to ease the economic strain on orphanages throughout the country.
