GAH Awards 2024: To Honour Transformational leaders
By Yemisi Suleiman
The 12th Edition of the GAH Awards, themed “Against All Odds,” is set to honour exceptional leaders who are transforming Africa’s business landscape.

This year, the awards go beyond recognition, focusing on sustainable change by addressing critical United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that are essential for long-term growth and resilience in African businesses.
Scheduled to take place December 7, 2024, at Cube 65, Lagos, the event will spotlight SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Dr Princess Kelechi Oghene Group Managing director GMYT Group, organisers of the annual awards says these goals align with the event’s mission to empower businesses
and leaders in creating a positive legacy for future generations.
Speaking on the importance of this year’s theme, Dr Oghene says African businesses face unique challenges that impact their longevity and success. “From limited access to funding to a lack of structural support, African businesses struggle to build sustainable legacies.
The GAH Awards seeks to address these systemic issues, empowering leaders with the tools, insights, and partnerships necessary to create resilient enterprises
that endure.”
The event will feature expert panels discussing strategies for building resilient businesses, legacy and succession planning, and creating enabling environments for sustainable growth.
Key questions to be explored during the panel discussions include: How can African businesses adopt critical systems to ensure long-term resilience? What role does government policy play in fostering or hindering business sustainability?
