Levi’s Storms Lekki, Opens Flagship Store at Purple Mall

Fashion enthusiasts in Lagos have a new haven to explore as the legendary American clothing brand Levi’s has officially launched its flagship store at the prestigious Purple Mall in Lekki.

This exciting development comes through a strategic partnership with SMARTMARK, West Africa and Nigeria’s leading fashion and lifestyle retailer.

The grand opening marks a significant step in SMARTMARK’s ambitious expansion strategy, further cementing its strong presence in the Nigerian retail landscape. With an already impressive network of over 60 stores spanning West Africa, showcasing renowned brands like Charles Tyrwhitt, Dune London, Clarks, Swatch, Aldo, Tommy Hilfiger, and Mothercare, SMARTMARK continues to bring world-class fashion closer to Nigerian consumers.

Speaking at the launch event, Mr John Onyeoguzoro, the Chief Executive Officer of Smartmark Limited, expressed his delight, stating, “We’ve been around for over 27 years, and this Levi’s store is our seventh in Nigeria and Ghana. Levi’s is a brand with a rich global history of over 150 years and has been present in Nigeria and Ghana for over 15 years. What we’ve achieved today is bringing this iconic brand even closer to our discerning customers who are frequent travellers and appreciate global fashion trends.”

Mr Onyeoguzoro emphasized the significance of this launch, highlighting that “Now, the styles and quality you see on renowned fashion streets like Oxford Street can be found right here in Nigeria, often at more affordable prices.”

He further elaborated on what makes Levi’s a truly special brand: “It’s about heritage, a legacy of over 150 years in the global market. It’s about the trust the brand has built, the unwavering quality of its products, and its commitment to sustainability. These attributes are what set Levi’s apart.”
Acknowledging the evolving fashion landscape, Mr. Onyeoguzoro noted, “While Levi’s is undeniably the number one jeans brand globally, it has also evolved significantly. Today, you’ll find not just their signature denim, but also stylish shirts, accessories, and even shoes. Levi’s now encompasses the entire spectrum of fashion.”

SMARTMARK’s CEO reiterated the company’s commitment to satisfying the needs of Nigerian fashion enthusiasts and keeping them abreast of global trends. He also touched upon the global strategy behind this launch, stating, “From a global perspective, there’s a drive for strong brand representation. Just as you find Levi’s on the top fashion streets in cities like Amsterdam and London’s Oxford Street, we are incredibly proud to be a part of bringing that same experience to Nigeria.”

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was graced by the presence of notable celebrities and fashion aficionados, underscoring the excitement surrounding the arrival of Levi’s at Purple Mall.

Since its inception in 1873 by Levi Strauss & Co., Levi’s jeans have transcended mere clothing to become a symbol of classic American style and effortless cool. Capturing the hearts and loyalty of generations, Levi’s has become the most recognizable and imitated apparel worldwide.

The brand continues to evolve, driven by a relentless spirit of pioneering and innovation within the apparel industry. With a presence in over 110 countries, Levi’s empowers individuals globally to express their unique personal style.

The newly opened Levi’s store at Purple Mall boasts an impressive collection showcasing the latest fashion trends and the very best in denim, promising a delightful shopping experience for all who appreciate quality, heritage, and timeless style. Lagosians can now immerse themselves in the world of Levi’s, right in the heart of Lekki.
