Dakore Egbuson-Akande reflects on life at 47

Renowned Actress Dakore Egbuson-Akande clocked 47 on Tuesday, October 15.

The delectable mother of two took to her official Instagram page to post pictures from a recent photoshoot, while also reflecting on what her birthday reminds her of.

She wrote: “Birthdays remind me to breathe, reflect, and give thanks to GOD Almighty for how far I’ve come.

“47 years around the sun, and 27 of those spent telling stories — mine and others’.

Sometimes it feels like I’ve lived a thousand lifetimes through the characters I’ve portrayed.

Each one has taught me something — about love, loss, resilience, grace, and the beauty of starting over.

Yet, in the quiet moments away from the lights and applause, I’ve discovered that the most meaningful role is simply learning to be myself — fully, gently, truthfully.

“This year, I feel an even deeper sense of gratitude —
for the journey, the lessons, the laughter, the tears,
and every person who’s walked beside me.

I see now that growth doesn’t come in grand leaps.
It unfolds quietly — in moments of surrender, reflection, and faith.”
