How to Slay-For-Less

What does it take to look great without breaking the bank? Not much. The key is knowing which pieces to buy, where to find them, and how to style them.

Fashion is not about the price tag, it’s about attitude. Walk like the world is your runway and nobody will be checking receipts.

Here are the secrets to looking fabulous for less.

  1. Basics Are Your Besties

A crisp white shirt, a cool black jacket, a black denim that actually loves your hips; these pieces are like good friends: reliable, versatile, and great at making everyone else look better. You can always mix and match them with other colourful outfits for better results.

  1. Accessorise Like a Stylist
Switch the bag, stack the bangles, throw on bold earrings. Accessories have magical powers and cost way less than a new outfit.
  2. Thrift and Drift
Vintage markets, and thrift stores, can bless you with unique pieces. Wear them like they were made for you.
  3. The Power of Tailoring
A minor adjustment can make something inexpensive look like couture. Shorter hem, snatched waist, sharper sleeve, and you will look flawless.
  4. Play with Textures
Satin against denim, chiffon with leather, crochet or denim plus Ankara. Contrasts feel luxurious without spending luxury money.
  5. Bold Colours, Loud Confidence
A pop of red lipstick, a neon blazer, emerald nails. Attention goes straight to you.
  6. Statement Shoes Are Legal Tender
Even the simplest dress bows to a fierce pair of heels or crisp sneakers. Footwear is the show-stealing accomplice of a budget outfit.
  7. Seasonal Sales Are Your Playground

Look out for stores that are on sales, that is where you will get your best designer pieces for less.

  1. Maintain Like A Pro
Good care equals longer wear. Wash gently, store properly, mend minor tears. Your pieces will thank you by staying longer with you.
