Foundation, OPAY supports 1,000 Osun students with back-to-school outreach

In a major push to support access to education and improve learning conditions for students, Do Good Charity Initiative, in partnership with OPay Digital Services
Limited, successfully organised a Back-To-School outreach for 1,000 students in Osun State.
The outreach, which held at Oshogbo Grammar School, Osogbo, brought together students and teachers from six schools across the state, including students living with disabilities.
Beneficiaries received essential school supplies including school bags, water bottles, sandals, exercise books, socks, and other stationery materials to support their learning and school resumption.

The schools that benefited from the outreach include Oshogbo Grammar School, Salvation Army Grammar School, Special Needs School, Olofa Grammar School, St George Primary School, and Union Baptist Primary School.
The event was organised with the support of the Osun State Education Board and featured cultural displays and performances by students of the host school.
OPay Digital Services Limited CSR Project Manager, Mr Itoro Udo, while speaking at the event said the initiative reflects OPay’s commitment to creating sustainable opportunities for young Nigerians through investments in education and community development.
He added that the outreach forms part of OPay’s broader social impact efforts focused on education, skills development, and community empowerment.
“At OPay, we believe impact should go beyond temporary assistance. Our
goal is to support initiatives that create long-term access and
opportunities for children and communities. Education remains one of the strongest foundations for national development, and we are proud to partner with Do Good Charity Initiative on this project,” he said.
The founder of Do Good Charity Initiative, Folakemi Adesina, expressed appreciation
to OPay Digital Services Limited and the Osun State Education Board for supporting the vision of reaching more children with practical educational support.
Adesina noted that many students still face challenges accessing basic
educational materials and encouraged greater collaboration between private
organisations and community-based initiatives.
“Every child deserves the opportunity to learn in dignity and confidence.
This project is a reminder that collective action can create real change in the lives of children and families. We are grateful to OPay for believing in this vision and helping us make a meaningful impact,” the founder stated.
One of the major highlights of the event was the presentation of Lifetime Achievement Awards to three retired educators — Mrs Ayodele Oluyinka, Mrs Deborah Kuponiyi, and Mrs Margaret Folashade Koledowo — in recognition of their lifetime of service, outstanding leadership, and lasting contributions to the growth of
education in Osun State.
OPay Digital Services Limited was also presented with a partnership award in appreciation of the organisation’s support towards the success of the outreach.
Beneficiaries at the event expressed gratitude for the intervention and the support received.
