Grammy confirms plan to include Afrobeat category
The Recording Academy, also known as the Grammys, has confirmed that plans to add an Afrobeats category to the Grammys are being considered. The Recording Academy’s CEO, Harvey Manson, made the disclosure in Ghana. According to him, the recording academy held a listening session with key Afrobeats players, indicating that steps are being taken to establish an Afrobeats category.
