    The Recording Academy, also known as the Grammys, has confirmed that plans to add an Afrobeats category to the Grammys are being considered. The Recording Academy’s CEO, Harvey Manson, made the disclosure in Ghana. According to him, the recording academy held a listening session with key Afrobeats players, indicating that steps are being taken to establish an Afrobeats category. He went on to say that in order for the academy to make a decision, a proposal must be submitted, which is currently being worked on to ensure accurate representation of the various colours and styles that the Afrobeats sound possesses.
