Former Beauty Queen, Ighodalo gives hope to infertile couples
Former beauty queen and wife of popular Lagos pastor, Ituah Ighodalo, Mrs Ibidun Ighodalo, has given 28 couples dealing with infertility, hope of becoming parents through her foundation’s 2016 grant towards fertility treatment.
According to Theheatnigeria.com, Ighodalo, who is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, said the grant was borne out of the burning desire to provide couples with the financial aid to actualize their dream of starting a family.
“We understand the challenges many couples face in their time of waiting and it is for this reason we are committed to going with them on this journey and together, we believe their hopes will be turned to happiness,” she said.
The former beauty queen added, “Application for this first phase of the grant ended 31 May with the couples selected from different states across the country.
“These couples will meet with a team of medical experts to ascertain their medical viability through a series of assessments and pre-tests, following which we will work with them in organizing payments to a certified fertility clinic in the country for fertility services received.”
The couples were selected in line with Ibidunni Ighodalo Foundation (IIF)’s objectives of raising awareness about infertility, preventing discrimination against couples having difficulty to conceive naturally and providing financial aid to couples who require fertility treatment.
The Ibidunni Ighodalo Foundation offers grants toward fertility treatments such as In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Frozen Embryo Transfer and Intrauterine Insemination and the Foundation engages in strategic partnerships with fertility clinics to carry out this philanthropic activity.
