Green-White-Green Inspired fashion ideas for Independence day

By Patricia Uyeh,
”Arise O compatriot, Nigeria’s call obey…” goes the national anthem. Nigeria has activated the national independence celebration mode. Nigerians are very peculiar people. With over 521 languages spoken, several local and continental dishes, our musical talents, fashion designers, athletes, footballers, thriving businesses and all, Nigeria remains endearing.

Nigerians have a good sense of humour. These days, comedy is making waves. After a stressful day, listening to Nigerian comedians using everyday occurrences and happenings as jokes is comic relief to a stressed mind. Nigerians are also industrious. We love doing many things. Jack of all trades, master of all. You would see a banker that is also into shoe trading and makeup business.  A man who is the principal ‎of a school , is also into consulting and import and exports. Sometimes, it is difficult to say what one does because one does many things.

Nigerians are creative. If you doubt google the likes of Chinua Ache be ( Of blessed memory), Chimamanda Adichie, Cobhams Asuquo, Clarence Peters, Folashade Alakija, Tara Fela Durotoye, Kaffy and many more. Nollywood is one of our greatest import. It has opened doors. Even in the phase of economic recession, Nigerians are known for their ”CAN DO” spirit. We are very enterprising and know how to make the best of opportunities.

As Nigerians both in the country and diaspora are preparing to mark this year’s Independence Day celebration, the colour green and white comes into the spotlight. It is time to show how creative you are so you can infuse the colour green-white-green(which represents our national flag) into your dressing. You can play with the colour green and white in your make up, clothes or even manicure for tomorrow’s celebration. Check out these Nigerian- inspired themed fashion ideas to rock tomorrow:
