A judge has ordered ex-boyfriend of late Bobbi Kristina Brown, Nick Gordon to pay the sum of $36 million to her family. This is coming two months after he was found legally responsible for her death.
Bobbi Kristina Brown is the daughter of Bobbi Brown and the late Whitney Houston. She died in July 2015 at age 22 after being in a coma for months. She was found face down and unconscious in a bathtub in a Georgia home that she shared with Gordon, who she often called her “husband” and was also raised by her mother.
In September, Nick Gordon was deemed ”legally responsible” for the 22-year-old’s death after her family took him to court. However, he denied any wrongdoing and was never charged with a crime. Her estate later filed a $50 million wrongful death civil lawsuit against him.
Following testimony from Ms Brown’s family and friends in Atlanta on Thursday, the judge ruled Gordon pay the sum of $36 million (£29 million) in damages over Bobbi Kristina’s death to her estate.
