Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2016 goes global, features in Vogue and CNN

The Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week, 2016 may have ended but news about it is still very much in vogue, as it was featured in the Italian online edition of Vogue magazine.
It put international spotlight on some emerging designers like DNA by Iconic Invanity, Onalaja, Style Temple, and popular Nigerian brands like Maki Oh, Lisa Folawiyo & Bridget Awosika came up, while international brands like Naked Ape, David Tlale were also mentioned.
Meanwhile, Aboutthecurvylife collective is making waves of its own. It is the first ever showing of plus size collection on the runway in Nigeria and the first ever plus size show for men. It was featured on CNN and the brain behind it, Latasha Ngwube said to CNN, “We’re getting a foot in the door. People have to see plus fashion in a way they never have before,” “You can become that which you desire if you believe that you deserve to be considered beautiful.”
