“The cabals are killing Nollywood”-Actress, Shan George

Veteran Nollywood actress, Shan George, in a recent interview disclosed what she thinks is the problem with the movie industry in Nigeria.
According to the light-skinned actress, the formation of ” cabals” within Nollywood has eaten deep and is killing the industry.
She went further to explain that no one wants to offer a newbie a role except by recommendation from someone in his/her cabal.
She suggested that they make do without that ideology for the movie industry to make progress.
She said:
”There’s a lot of cabals going on. Serious cabality going on. I mean, they have people with a list of names and if you don’t know certain persons we cannot accept your movie. These are the reasons the industry is not going on the way it should go but in every other area, we have good writers, dynamic producers, directors… the equipment are in top gear, top notch writers, who are doing amazingly well. The cabality is the major issue, ”
