The official launch of the Elfreeda Foundation held at the Imo Trade and Investment Center, Owerri, Imo State. In attendance were dignitaries such as the wife of the Acting – President, Her Excellency, Mrs Oludolapo Osinbajo, the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha (OON); his wife, Mrs Nneoma  Okorocha; and wife of the Governor of Enugu State, Mrs Monica Ugwuanyi.
The Elfreeda Foundation is an open shelter for homeless women and children., founded by Mrs Uloma Rochas Nwosu, the daughter of the incumbent Governor of Imo State. In her words, her love for giving and helping the needy developed when as a young girl, she would go with her family, once a month to share food to the needy in a part of Kaduna. This imbibed in her a sense of compassion, and a desire to help the poor. The Foundation’s  mission, she disclosed, is to “strive every day to create a haven where homeless women and children find stability and access to the basic needs of life’’.
