Hanan Buhari, daughter of Nigeria’s President, Mohammed Buhari put together a photo exhibition in Abuja recently.

The exhibition attracted members of the international community as well as the high-level stakeholders in the Nigerian art industry.

For Hanan, the photo exhibition tagged ‘Innovation By Hanan’, was meant to show to the world Nigeria and Nigerians’ peaceful and hardworking features as well as to encourage young people to pursue what they are sincerely passionate about. Some of the pictures on display were deeply cultural revealing the conservative lifestyle of Northern Nigeria.

The exhibition held at the Thought Pyramid Art Center in Abuja. The curator, Jerry Buhari, a Professor of fine art at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria expressed his admiration for the beauty in Hanan’s pictures, considering that “Hanan has  been handling the camera for barely two years.”

Gracing the event were; the photographer’s mother, Wife of the President Hajia Aisha Buhari, her elder sister Zahra, her brother in-law Ahmed Indimi. Wife of the Vice President, Dolapo Osinbajo who witnessed the second day of the photo exhibition noted that the creative industry has lots of opportunities, yet to be explored by Nigeria.

Others include; the Norwegian Ambassador to Nigeria, Jens-Petter Kjemprud; Ecuadorian Ambassador, Leopoldo Rovayo; Iranian Ambassador, Morteza Rahimi Zarchi; wife of Brazilian Ambassador, Elza Lima and Hideki Sakamoto of the Japanese Embassy.

In attendance also was Osita Okechukwu – Director-General, Voice of Nigeria (VON); Director-General for Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, Mr. Folorunsho Coker, Alhaji Nasiru Danu, wife of Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Zainab Atiku Bagudu and wife of Kogi State Governor, Mrs. Rashida Bello.

Other prominent photographers in Nigeria also throw their support for Hanan; T.Y Bello, Bayo Omoboriowo, Haye Okon, Henry Oji Nwaeze, George Okoro among others.
