Meet Sope Aluko, the Nigerian actor, who actually features in Black Panther

Before the premiere of highly anticipated Hollywood movie, The Avengers: Black Panther, there were speculations that Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele Bello scored a role in the movie. Later, it was speculated that Nollywood sweetheart, Genevieve Nnaji was the one Nigerian actress, who had been featured in the movie.
Now, we know neither of the actresses were featured, however, there is one Nigerian actress in the cast and her name is Sope Aluko.
Sope Aluko is one Nigerian-born British-American Hollywood actress, who landed the coveted role in the movie.
Sope Aluko was born in Nigeria but primarily raised in the UK. She has dual-citizenship in both the US and the UK, and speaks four different languages, including her native language, Yoruba.
In the past couple of years, Sope has had roles on Netflix’s “Bloodline”, NBC’s “Law & Order SVU” and “Parks & Recreation”, and guest appearances on USA Network’s “Burn Notice”, “Graceland” and Lifetime’s “Army Wives”. Her film credits include supporting roles in feature films like “Identity Thief”, “Pitch Perfect 2”, “96 Minutes”, “Grass Stains”, “The Good Lie” and more.
Sope is a mother to two teenage boys, and currently splits her time between Miami and Los Angeles.
For the premiere of the movie, yesterday, January 29th, Sope stayed true to her roots as she rocked a green laser cut outfit from leading fashion brand Deola Sagoe.
The Marvel’s Black Panther is coming to the cinemas on February 16th, 2018
