Nobody wants their hair to be brittle and damaged. However, with age and regular application of chemical exposure to the hair comes the challenge of maintaining healthy, shiny, and luscious hair.
Most women agree that taking care of the hair is no easy job! It requires a lot of hard work and diet monitoring.
Expert says one common problem that may arise with years of chemical application is hair breakage.
Daniel Komlan, Technical Education Manager, Natures Gentle Touch Hair Institute, Victoria Island, Lagos, says hair breakage is a condition where one’s hair is breaking off faster than it is growing.
According to him, hair grows at approximately 1.25cm per month. But due to poor hair care practices, most individuals find their hair breaking off before they can groom it to the desired length.
Tips on how to if your hair is breaking
*If your hair keeps falling off anytime you comb or brush it.
*If you discover loose hair strands all over the place.
*If you notice too many hair strands on your comb or brush.
*If you find it difficult to groom your hair to the length you desire.
*If you lose large amounts of hair anytime you remove your braid or extensions.
Treatment options is to start hair reconstruction process with Eucalyptus anti-breakage product.
Home remedies include the use shea butter and onion juice. Application on scalp and hair of oils from coconut oil, grapeseed, carrot, argan, castor and coconut are also effective.
