Music diva, Tiwa Savage has expressed shock after her latest track, Tiwa’s Vibe was banned from being played on local stations because she said “Shayo”, a Nigerian slang for a drunkard.
The single, which was released last month was produced by Spellz, who also produced the song ‘Ma Lo’ featuring Wizkid, for which she got the award for best collaboration at the Headies 2018.
According to her, the track ‘Tiwa’s Vibe’ was banned over her mention of alcohol and in a country where alcohol is legal, a fact she pointed out in her post, believing that the idea is absurd.
In a post on Instablog9ja on Saturday, Tiwa took to her Instagram stories to reveal that the song was banned on local stations because she said ‘shayo’ in the lyrics.
“Just heard ‘Tiwa’s Vibe’ is banned from local stations because I said shayo, but alcohol is legal right?” She said.
