Afrobeat Star, Femi Kuti’s bassist absconded 20 minutes before concert in US

Aggrieved, King of Afrobeat, Femi Kuti, who played host to President Emmanuel Macron of France last month during his visit to Nigeria was almost left in limbo on stage in New York when one of his band member (Positive Force) absconded 20 minutes to the beginning of their show.

Femi who almost became a victim on stage safe for his improvisation, cried out on his Instagram page to share the news.

“My bassist Aghedo Andrew nearly ruined my concert yesterday in New York @SummerStage . He disappeared ( absconded) 20mins before show time. I want to thank the rest of the band for standing strong and giving one of the best shows of the tour,” he writes.

Immediately after Femi’s post, his doting sister, Yeni Kuti, posted the picture of the deserting band member, tagging President Donald Trump, possibly to help in smoking his out, calling his ‘Betrayer’.

“ The face of betrayal. I hope @realdonaldtrump catches you and deports you. Deserted band 20 mins before concert because he wants to stay in America. ANDREW AGHEDO! Those who defend you are just like you. You try to destroy other people to get on in life. It doesn’t work like that.

In spite of the disappointment, Femi said the show was fantastic as other band members gave their best to fill the vacuum. Femi is currently on tour of US tagged One People One World Tour 2018.
