Do you recall the 11-year-old hyperrealist artist, Kareem Waris Olamilekan, who drew a portrait of visiting French President, Emmanuel Macron in two hours? Lagos State governor, Akinwumi Ambode has pledged to support the whizz-kid through his education.
As Governor Ambode hosted Kareem and his parents at the State government house, he promised to render educational support as well as nurture Kareem’s talent to become a renowned artist later in life.
Responding to Governor Ambode’s kind gesture, Kareem said:
“I am very happy and excited. I thank Governor Ambode for this opportunity. Now, I want to study my arts very well; I want to be a good artist, great artist in the world,”
His proud parents, Mr and Mrs Mutiu Kareem, while noting the amazing feat achieved by their son, expressed gratitude to the State Government for the huge support they have received so far.
His father said:
“I thank God for this. What has happened in my life through my son is something I never thought would happen to me but this is a miracle. I am so happy,”
