Fashion Designer, Lanre Da Silva’s rising profile as hits 40 today

One of Nigeria’s leading couturiers, Lanre Da Silva Ajayi is 40 today, August 6.

Femi Da Silva, her sister, took to her Instagram page to pen down a lovely message for the woman fondly called LDA. She described as a woman of many parts.

She wrote: “6th of August B-DAY!!! Today is an Extremely Special Day, and we can’t keep Calm, or Hold Still!! We are Beside ourselves with Joy, Excitement, and Happiness, as we Celebrate our Dear Creative Director Lanre, popularly referred to as LDA, turns the BIG 40!!

“Lanre the Woman of many Parts: Child, Mother, Wife, Sister, Confidant, Helper, Selfless, kind-Hearted, Generous, Loving, Polite, Courteous, Dedicated, Hard-working, Peace-maker, God Fearing, Entrepreneur, Fashion Designer, and the list goes on…… They say “Life Begins at 40”. As you Embark into this new Chapter of your life, we Pray the Good Lord continues to shower you with his Blessings, Wisdom, Grace, Favor, Protection, and Guidance, in Jesus name! Amen.

“Happy Birthday our Dear Super Star……..We love you!”

A graduate of Business Administration from Coventry University, Lanre obtained a master’s degree in Finance from the University of Leicester.

Lanre Da Silva launched her brand, LDA, in 2005.

Her label includes couture, ready-to-wear, jewellery and hairpieces.

Da Silva’s collections often incorporate metallic fabrics, lace and African patterns, while referencing the 1940s or 1800s.

The Africa Fashion Guide recognizes her as having “… created a name for herself in high fashion in Nigeria.

She has showcased in several countries around the world, including the New York Fashion Week and she has an elite clientele.
