Singer, Sunny Neji speaks on his absence from the music industry

By Patricia Uyeh

“Oruka” crooner, Sunny Neji, who has been off the music radar for quite some time, in a recent chat, spoke about his music career and more.

According to him, his hits songs like “Oruka” and “Mr Fantastic” failed to generate the accolades they ought to have got. In his words, they were successful but not enough to get the reaction he was looking for.

He said: “Some of my greatest songs did not get the kind of reaction I expected . Oruka and Mr Fantastic can be considered to be some of my successful songs. Some of my deep materials have not received so much accolade; maybe because they didn’t get the kind of promotion the other ones got”

Speaking of his absence from the entertainment industry, Sunny Neji said:

“I am trying to reinvent a direction, I am thinking deeper now before I write songs. I am trying to redefine a more inspirational path before I write my songs. If you want to connect with people at that level, it has to do with more thinking.
