Kings College Old Boys kicks off KingsWeek in Style

Secretary KCOBA)King’s College Old Boys’ Association at Press briefing in Lagos, to kick of the Kingsweek Founder’s Day Celebration which begins September 18 in LNigeria.
As activities for this year’s Kings aweek kicked off on Wednesday September 18th, the organizers have promised to make it a most memorable one.
According to chairman planing committee of the Kings College Old Boys Association Mr Mustapha Chike Obi, the celebration would be very memorable for members and guests.
While speaking to the press on this year’s activities Mr Chike Obi stated that the School will kick off the celebrations with activities from 18th September and ends on the 2oth. The Old Boys activities, called the Kings Week, however starts on the 20th and it ends on the 23rd. The activities began with a lecture on the 20th. “We have Jummat and Church service on Friday, and this would be followed by a dinner on the 22nd. We would be concluding with the AGM on the 23rd”, he informed.
Keynote speaker for this year’s event is Mr Bismarck Rewane and the probable speaker for the Lecture is His Royal Highness , Emir Sanusi the second, who would be speaking on education in Nigeria
On his part, the Vice president of the Old Boys association, Mr Rotimi Aladesanmi explained that the Kings Week is the high point of the old Boys Associations celebrations every year and the founders day is in commemoration of the establishment of the college in 1909.
“The College actually started as an institution on the 20th of September . So we always celebrate this as a reminder of the status and of the history behind this college. There is always an intellectual slant to the celebration and that is why we always have a lecture , which would be on a topical issue that is relevant to the Nigerian society. We also use it as an avenue to socialize and share our experience with Old boys coming together from far and near.”
