ACMA sets to honor African Christian Entertainers
African Christian Movies and music Award (ACMA) in conjunction with Christian Churches has set aside a day to honor entertainers whose work of art have advance Christian faith and moral virtues among the youths.
The event, which will take place at Alpha and Omega Hall, Lumen Christi Television House, Lekki, Lagoon 25th of November, is a project conceived by Christian Entertainment Practitioners of various denominations and is designed to recognize, encourage and reward excellence as well as celebrate creativity in favour of Christian values in Entertainment industry in Nigeria and across the continent of Africa.
Speaking at the press briefing, the President of ACMA, Commander C. O. C Nze said: “It is an integral part of advancement of Christian faith aimed at eliciting and encouraging production of virtuous and proliferation of Christian movie and music that would engage the minds of our youths who are daily enticed and lured by worldliness and temporal pleasure which secular movies and music promote and eulogize. ”
He stressed that Award gives difference to the awards and stimulates additional strides hence it’s our conviction that recognizing excellence and performance in Christian entertainment sector will not only boost the moral of those involved in this work of art but will definitely act as impetus for accelerated works and attendants upsurge in Africa couple with creation of job opportunities for African Youths.
Commenting further on the challenges, Nze said: “I expect the churches because we have met some private organisations they don’t venture into Christian activities or maybe their directors value varies, but we I expect the Christian community to support this evangelical project because it is not easy you know it is evangelisation purely evangelisation not personal So we want to carry evangelisation to next level you know people believe in what they see and what they hear you know by encouraging people who are into Christian movie and music we are evangelising imaging people like voice of the cross and you remember voice of the cross music for example it touches soul even if you bring it now you will meditate as if you are very close to God people are that look at people like manzion who are who have been doing marvellously well in this type things like that nobody recognises them but this are the kind of people we want to recognise so we need support from corporate bodies, individuals, Christian like mind, the GOs they are there and they have a lot to spare to make this work.”
