Oprah Winfrey thanks fans for support after mum’s death
Media mogul, Oprah Winfrey, has thanked fans for their “kind words and condolences,” following the death of her mother, Vernita Lee, at the age of 83.
On Monday, the family issued a statement which said that Vernita Lee had passed away on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 22, at her home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A spokesperson for Winfrey said a private funeral had already taken place.
Oprah later posted a family photo on Instagram, expressing her gratitude for the support she had received.
She wrote: “Thank you all for your kind words and condolences regarding my mother Vernita Lee’s passing. It gives our family great comfort knowing she lived a good life and is now at Peace.
