Singer, Olamide defends controversial song- Logo Benz
Nigerian singer, Olamide has continued to stir controversy with his songs. This time around, he has come out to defend his controversial song Logo Benz.
This followed an outcry by Nigerians who said its lyrics promoted internet fraud aka ‘yahoo-yahoo’ and ‘blood money.’
Taking to his Twitter page, Olamide said the motivation for the song was for the 3rd party to have a glimpse of the state of youths in Nigeria.
He wrote:
“Logo Benz is for the 3rd party to have a glimpse into the current state of youths in our society. (Runs girls x runs boys) “ I’m not sure if there’s anything like 2 much awareness, but pardon me if there is. It’s all over the news, it’s always been in movies, don’t box musicians.”
The explanation did little to quell the negative reactions, as fans continued to point out that the lyrics of the song encourages ritual killings.”
