New NGO, The Young Groomer, launched in Lagos
A new non-governmental organisation (NGO) has been inaugurated in Lagos.
Known as The Young Groomer, the NGO is established to groom children and youths, age 6 -25 years to know the need to develop in every area of their lives, especially their talent and use these talents to benefit others and themselves.
Convener of the NGO, Mrs Olubunmi Bashua, an educationist, stated that apart from grooming the children and youths in their careers choices, other areas to be touched are morals, etiquette, healthy living and nutrition. “Even the parents will also share practical life experiences on parenting. She opined that this is important because to raise godly children in this godless world, parents need a lot more than parenting tips and principles adopted from books.” She said.
Speaking on why moral grooming is important, Bashua said: “Our societal values and morals, as well as individual or personal value, has been displaced amongst our youths and children where we as adults wonder how will these children be in the nearest future because parents are so busy in search of making ends meet and at the expense of giving morals and values to this younger generation.
“This and many other ills are what we hope to address by catching and grooming these children early,” Bashua said.
