Actor, Fred Amata bags chieftaincy title in Isoko land
Nollywood actor, producer, and director, Fred Amata, is now a traditional chief.
He was conferred with The Okugbe 1 of Oleh Kingdom title on Sunday, July 28.
The 56-year-old shared news of the latest development on his Instagram page with a picture in his full chieftaincy regalia.
He wrote: “July 28th. Sunday I was pronounced Chief Fred Amata. The Okugbe 1 of Oleh Kingdom.
By His Royal Majesty, *Anthony* *William* *Onovughe* *Ovrawah*, Omogha 1, The Odio-Ologbo of Oleh Kingdom, Chairman Isoko Traditional Rulers Council.”
A graduate of Theatre Arts from the University of Jos, Fred shot into limelight in 1986 for his role in a film titled Legacy. He currently serves as the President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria, since February 27, 2016.
Amata was formerly married to popular TV host of ‘Inside Out with Agatha,’ Agatha Amata. The marriage produced two children.
He also had a relationship with former Actor Guild President, Ibinabo Fiberesima, which also produced a child.
