Chef Cooks for 75 hours non-stop, emerges Guinness World Record holder
For cooking for 75 hours non-stop, Maliha Mohammed has broken the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking chef.
The Mombasa-based Kenyan chef set a new record from the 68 hours, 30 minutes and one second held by Rickey Lumpkin from California, USA, in December 2018.
Ms. Mohammed, a self-taught chef, had prepared a list of 400 recipes of local and international cuisines for the competition to have her name on the Guinness Book of World Records.
In May, she cooked for 36 hours for her first trial, and then in July, she cooked for 54 hours, preparing over 100 recipes.
As part of her initiative to raise awareness and feed the less fortunate in Mombasa, the food she prepared will be offered to charity homes and orphanages.
Excited about the feat, the 36-year old chef can’t wait to showcase Kenyan dishes to the world.
