Our view of Naija through Anto Lecky’s eyes is so beautiful

September 17,2019
Share:

Ex-Big Brother Naija housemate, Tobi Bakre started a project called, #NaijaThroughMyEyes, where he tells the story of the country through the eyes of whoever he captures.

Our view of Naija through Anto Lecky's eyes is so

His first subject was Anto Lecky, his colleague and Tobi’s description of Naija through her eyes is so beautiful.

“She is Strong, driven and passionate about the things that matter to her. She is loved and isn’t scared to love back. That is to say whatever you give her, you get back in multiple folds,” he wrote.

And just like Tobi, we have decided to see our beloved country just like he sees Anto Lecky. And although, the situation of the country may not be favourable at the moment, we stay positive that things will get better.

When I saw that @tobibakre was organizing the #NaijaThroughMyEyes photography initiative, I immediately volunteered to be the muse. Why? Because I support any project that helps to tell the Nigerian story and provides Nigerians with skills to have a better life. The mood was Sisi Eko and I haven’t had that many cameras on me since being in @bigbronaija house. I watched as the photographer struggled to get the perfect shot and I tried to give all the angles under the hot sun. Then I was tasked with selecting my favorite picture of myself and that person would be awarded a prize. THE PRESSURE. But here the picture is! They say eyes are the windows to the soul and I love how my eyes look in this picture. These eyes have seen many things in this Nigeria! I love that my features still look like MY features not a edited copy, one of my eyebrows is still higher than the other, one eye is bigger, my nose is still pointy, one side of my lip is dipped, my skin is naturally popping, and my veins are very visible. I love the colors, very natural and real. I commend @tobibakre and the other photographers who instilled knowledge in these aspiring photographers. Many of our “role models” see newcomers as competition and don’t always want to teach, so this was very applaudable. Can’t wait to see the next level work created by these artists! I’ll be posting other pics from the session as well because they’re just too great Please can we also point out how FULL and LUXURIOUS my edges look! WAWU. Better get some @antoxtarieshairbuilder so your edges can look this great when tying gele! Photography: @releowoyemi (great work!) Makeup/Gele: @pressyclassic (thank you for always coming through in a jiffy) Asooke: @molbaks_alasooke (thank you for making this in just a few hours) Jewelry: @gbengaartsmith (thank you for naming this brand new piece after me)

#NaijaThroughMyEyes. . On my #NaijaThroughMyEyes project. I had the courtesy to photograph Anto. . Someone I have bonded with as a person on different levels over a year now. She is Strong, driven and passionate about the things that matter to her. She is loved and isn't scared to love back. That is to say whatever you give her, you get back in multiple folds. . Thanks once again for coming through @antolecky
