Linda Ikeji speaks on using social media to rebrand Nigeria

Speaking at the event yesterday on how to use social media to rebrand Nigeria , Linda Ikeji said ;

Nigeria has a lot of negative names and those from outside the country see us through what it’s posted online.

If the government can partner with Influencers and big brands online (like herself), certain things can be changed.

She advised the government to see social media users and influencers as friends not enemies.

She also encouraged the Nigerian government to create an active social media handle for disseminating information.

That way all the citizens get first hand information and that will curb fake news.

She added that the handle should  be used to celebrate individual success of the people.

That will project Nigeria in a positive manner and attract more to the people.

Finally she said that, the responsibility of rebranding Nigeria requires effort from every one of us.

If we Unite together and glamorize Nigeria by showcasing or the positivity going on amongst us, we will end up rebranding the image if the country.
