Nollywood for marriage, ‘I am ready to quit’- Chiamaka Nwokeukwu

Nigerian Actress, Chiamaka Nwokeukwu, has made a confession that would likely break the hearts of her fans.

Nwokeukwu, who started acting seven years ago, recently told Saturday Beats that she would quit acting when she gets married.

“I am not going be in the game forever. Once I get married, I am leaving the industry.”

On why she’s taking that stance, the ‘Box of Truth’ actress said, “It is for reasons best known to me that I am not willing to talk about.”

Decrying the attitude of young actors to the profession, Nwokeukwu stated, “I used to be quite young when I joined Nollywood. I was about 18 and I have been in the industry for about seven years now.

Though I slowed down at some point, I don’t accept every script that comes my way. The industry used to be exciting back then. Now, anybody can just wake up and become an actress if they know the right people.

The industry has also improved a lot too. Now, we produce better movies with great cameras, unlike those days when the cameras weren’t too good.”

On how she has been able to avoid scandals, the light-skinned actress said, “I really don’t like my name coming up for unnecessary reasons, so I stay away from controversies. I try to live a private life to avoid controversies”

Nwokeukwu also noted that she doesn’t plan to enhance any part of her body. “I don’t think I would like to work on any part of my body. I love my body the way it is,” she said.
