The world recognized me as a drummer on your platform –Ara acknowledges Lacampagne President
Sensational female drummer, Aralola Olamuyiwa, AKA Ara, on Wednesday acknowledge you, Otunba Olawanle Raphael Akinboboye, President Lacampagne Beach Resort as one who made her gain international recognition.
In a post on Instagram, she stated that though they may have disagreed on a lot of issues and are not in business together today, she has healed from the hurt and pains of the past.
She thanked him for his efforts.
“A Yoruba proverb says “even when crying, our vision blurred by tears, we still see,” there is still clarity…..Dr. Otunba Olawanle Raphael Akinboboye President @lacampagne_beachresort resort, founder @corporateguards, founder @atundaentertainments Entertainment.
“Sir, we may not be best of friends today, we may not be in business together today, we may not agree on a whole lot of issues as it concerns my artist management contract today, (now in the past) I may have hurt, felt cheated (I am healed, all in the past), “won maa nfi agba re omode je ni…” One thing remains a fact, the world recognized me as a drummer on your platform, I acknowledge you sir, I thank you!”
Ara took the world by storm when she emerged on the scene many years ago, under her former record label, Wanle Akinboboye’s Atunda Entertainment.
She was hyped as the first female talking drummer Nigeria had ever known, who toured the world performing with some of the greatest musicians alive.
Things, however, went awry between her and the management team after the expiration of her seven-year contract with the talented drummer saying she left with only her name, and no money.
Ara said in an interview that the most important lesson she learned during her stay with the then management team is that one shouldn’t sign any contract without a lawyer being present.
Ara’s contract expired in 2007 and she has since moved on.
