Nollywood actor and politician, Yul Edochie, who declared his intention to run for the highest seat in the country few months ago, has announced he’s no longer vying for the 2019 presidential seat.
Yul, who is presently the Senior Special Assistant to Anambra State Governor on Creative & Entertainment Media, took to his Instagram page, on Thursday to share the news.
According to him, the action became expedient after due consultation and consideration.
He wrote: “After due consideration & consultations, I will no longer run for president of Nigeria, 2019. To my supporters, worry not. I remain committed to build a new Nigeria that works for all, irrespective of class, tribe or religion. Together, we shall achieve it,” he wrote.
His fans have been reacting to the news with some saying they knew he would not go through before. According to one of them, “the ladder is too long to jump to the top without starting from the bottom steps.” They, however, advised the actor to stick to his words and don’t let people call him a drama king.
Recall that the award-winning actor declared to run for the presidents’ position in May, when he shared a campaign poster on Instagram and wrote:
“Today I declare my interest to run for President of the greatest country in the world, Nigeria.
“A blessed country that has been crippled by decades of bad leadership.
“Enough is Enough!
