‘Watchmen’, an American superhero series, has secured the highest nominations for the 2020 Emmy Awards, with a record 26 entries.

The series, produced by Home Box Office (HBO), topped the nomination chart with ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ clinching the second spot with 20 nominations.

‘Ozark’ and ‘Succession’ occupied the third spot on the chart with 18 nominations each.

Nominations for the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards were announced on Tuesday during a virtual ceremony streamed live.

The announcement sees Netflix, US-based streaming giant, broke the record for most nominations in a single year, scoring 160 in total.
